Danelectro was founded by Nathan Daniel in 1947 and began building amplifiers and then solid body electric guitars with the Silvertone series in 1954. 
The company later produced hollow body guitars. In 1956, Danelectro released a 6-string electric bass. 
At the end of the 90s, Evets Corporation reissued the Silvertone and marketed effects pedals and small amps.
