Adam Audio, Berlin‑born studio monitoring

Founded in the late 1990s in Berlin, Adam Audio quickly established itself as a serious player in the studio monitor market, first in high‑end control rooms and then in project and home studios worldwide. From day one, the company focused on a distinctive technology – a folded ribbon tweeter derived from the Air Motion Transformer principle – delivering very detailed highs, low distortion and an exceptionally wide stereo image.

The ART tweeter: a recognisable sonic fingerprint

At the heart of Adam Audio’s identity is its folded ribbon tweeter, known as ART (Accelerated Ribbon Technology) and, on recent models, HPS waveguide designs. Unlike a conventional dome that moves in and out, the pleated diaphragm squeezes air sideways, moving more air with less mechanical excursion. This results in highly detailed yet smooth high frequencies, a strong sense of air and depth and reduced listening fatigue during long mixing sessions. Combined with stiff, well‑controlled woofers and carefully tuned amplification, this gives Adam monitors a character that many engineers rely on for electronic music, pop, rock and sound design work.

From A and S series to T series: covering every studio need

Over the years, Adam Audio has developed several product lines to cover different studio profiles: the flagship S and A series for high‑end mixing and mastering rooms, the AX series (A3X, A5X, A7X, A8X, etc.) which became a benchmark for serious project studios, and the more affordable T series (T5V, T7V, T8V) that brings Adam’s ribbon tweeter technology to a wider audience. Across these ranges, the design philosophy is consistent: extended, controlled frequency response, precise imaging, rear‑panel room‑adaptation controls (from simple shelves to DSP‑based voicing) and robust builds suited to daily professional use. From stereo setups to multi‑speaker post‑production arrays, Adam Audio has become a go‑to choice for producers, composers and engineers who want an articulate, modern monitoring reference.
